I started with one machine and a belief — that every Indian woman, from the boardroom to the wedding mandap, deserves something beautiful, perfectly fitted, and entirely her own.

Born in Kolkata, Rubi Ganguly stitched her first dress at the age of 12 from her mother's old saris. After graduating from Calcutta University and completing her professional fashion training in Mumbai, she launched Rubynique in 2012 with just two tables, one sewing machine, and three handmade wooden printing blocks. Today, she is one of India's leading fashion designers — celebrated for revolutionizing the Insta-Saree, designing for Indian celebrities, and building a multi-storied fashion and manufacturing house in Kolkata that touches the lives of hundreds of women artisans.

From a Single Machine to a Fashion House

Rubi Ganguly started Rubynique with two tables, one sewing machine, and three handmade wooden printing blocks — and an unshakeable belief in Indian craftsmanship. Over three decades, she built it into a renowned multi-storied designer fashion and manufacturing house in Kolkata, equipped with modern embroidery units, block printing facilities, and in-house artisans working exclusively with natural fiber fabrics.
